French manhole covers - a sidetrip

On holiday this summer I was hoping to snag some coalhole covers but I didn't spot a single one. Instead, I found some intriguing manhole covers and other covers over what would have been stopcocks.
First up is this lovely water (or sewer) manhole down a side street off the quay in Dieppe.

Then we have a dinky little gas stopcock cover, about the size of an Olympic medal, from Dieppe seafront.
Finally, some water and gas manhole covers from Saumur and Angers.
All tres jolie.
Sorry about my grubby toes.
